The best corners of the island
In this post we are going to tell you about the best spots on the island so that you don't miss anything during your visit to Lanzarote.
Timanfaya National Park
First stop on the island, undisputed by all of us who know it, is the Timanfaya National Park, the most spectacular natural sight. A volcanic landscape shaped by eruptions between 1730 and 1736 that will not leave you indifferent, because of its peculiarity and beauty, you will feel like you are on the moon. Here, you can enjoy guided tours to observe its magnificence, demonstrations of the power of the great volcano, and you can even eat in its restaurant with dishes made in the very heat of the dormant volcano.
The best beaches
Situated in the municipality of Yaiza, in the village of Playa Blanca, you will find the Natural Reserve of Los Ajaches, where you can find the best and most beautiful beaches on the island. Here you can find Playa Mujeres, which is the largest beach in this natural paradise. You can also visit Playa de Papagayo, Playa del Pozo or Puerto Muelas, the latter being a nudist beach.Papagayo Beach is a small cove with turquoise waters and surrounded by large cliffs. It is one of the most famous beaches in the Nature Reserve due to the spectacular scenery that can be seen both on the beach itself and in its depths. It is not for nothing that Lanzarote was declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO on 7 October 1993.
Mirador del Rio
Another of the island's must-see sights is located at the top of the Risco de Famara and is a panoramic viewpoint from which you can see the nearby and fortunate island of La Graciosa, the El Rio strait and the Chinijo archipelago. This spectacular viewpoint was created by Cesar Manrique, a landmark on the island that you should also see on your visit, and is a true work of art worthy of a stroll around it.
Puerto del Carmen
If you visit the island you will pass by here for sure. It is the most touristic centre of the island, There you will find numerous restaurants with local food, souvenir shops, beaches and other services that you would expect to find in a tourist area. The best thing to do is to stroll along the avenue of beaches at sunset and end up having dinner in a restaurant on the seafront.
The Village of Teguise
Another of Lanzarote's charming places, a village that has been looked after to the last detail, where on Sundays you can enjoy a curious flea market where you can find the typical souvenirs for tourists as well as local food and many artisan products. These are some of the best recommendations we can make if you are visiting Lanzarote. Without a doubt, you will be able to find a host of other hidden places of spectacular beauty on the island, Because although it looks like a small island, it has a lot to see.And if you weren't sure where to go on your summer holidays, Lanzarote is a place you can't miss on your list.
